Hiking up Mt. Mansfield isn’t easy, to say the least. It can be a long trek to reach the highest point in Vermont, but you can still get there by car. The auto toll road opens for the season on Saturday, June 2, 2018 and you’re going to want to take a drive on the highest road in VT. With spectacular views along the way, seeing Vermont from up above has never been easier.

The Auto Toll Road is part of the Stowe Mountain Resort and is located at 7416 Mountain Rd., Stowe, VT 05672

As you can imagine, fall foliage is a particularly awesome time to take the drive.

There is even a little chapel along the way.

The road ends at the Mt. Mansfield’s Visitor Center which isn’t quite at the top, but it’s a lot easier than hiking up from the bottom!

Take a short walk along the path for even more incredible views.

There is a flat rocky area that’s perfect for a picnic on top of the state!

There is nothing quite like gazing out for miles and miles.

While the road doesn’t go to the actual highest point in Vermont, you can hike the rest of the way to the top if you want to go even higher.

This hike to the tippy top isn’t for the faint of heart, though!

There are many rocks and steep edges, but if you can hack it, the views from the top are amazing.

But standing 4,393 feet above sea level???
