Fried pies are just one (of the many) perks of life in the South. And thanks to a tiny Richland eatery, you don’t have to wait until dessert to indulge on the deliciously fried creation. Serving up fried pies stuffed with a variety of fruits, creams, and meats, the small town gem has some of the best fried pies in Mississippi. Take a look:

This is Tom’s Fried Pies. It’s located just south of Jackson in the small town of Richland. Take notice, the sign simply reads, “Fried Pies.”

Using a family recipe, the local favorite has been serving up its fried pies for years. A great choice for any meal, the tasty pies come perfectly fried and filled to the brim with the fruit, meat, or cream of your choosing.

Tom’s Fried Pies is located at 827 US 49, Richland, MS 39218. It’s open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. The fruit pies are made all day, while the meat pies are made when you order. Want a pie special made just for you? No problem; just call in your order, and they’ll have it ready in about six minutes.
