Hiking is a worthwhile pastime in Montana for two reasons: You get some great exercise, and you get to take in scenic views of the most beautiful state in the country. And if you pick the right trail, you can do both without exerting yourself too much.
Bozeman’s M Trail is one of those hikes, and it’s easy to see why it’s so popular.
Because it leads to the giant letter M perched above Bozeman, the M Trail is definitely easy to find.

The M Trail is under 2 miles in length, so you don’t even have to devote an entire day to it.

You can either take the right fork or the left fork up the trail. The right fork is more steep, but the left fork has switchbacks.
