You’ll find fine examples of their work, such as the “Perfect Melodeon,” the likes of which were manufactured starting in 1855.

As the company grew, so did the complex where they were built. At their peak there were over 20 buildings, many of which were interconnected by raised walkways and covered bridges.

You can still see many of the old slate factory buildings, although now they have been converted into businesses and apartments.
