One of North Dakota’s biggest cities has the perfect trail system to experience it on. Take a walk along a river and through parks, downtown, and across plenty of interesting things to see. The Greenway is a huge park and trail system in Grand Forks, North Dakota that borders East Grand Forks, Minnesota. The entire park is over twice the size of New York City’s famous Central Park.

The trails go along the Red River on both sides, with North Dakota’s side going quite a bit further south. On these trails you can walk, bike, or just hang out.

The Greenway was created after the floods of 1997 devastated the area, but it has now been turned into a place for everyone to enjoy and use recreationally. There is a monument of how high the flood waters went in the park that you can see here:

The trails will take you to many bridges, including the well-known Sorlie Bridge.

The path also goes through downtown Grand Forks where you can see the beauty of the city along the Red River. The annual Grand Cities Art Fest takes place here each year.
