It isn’t long before you come upon the trail’s namesake: Island Lake. The lake itself is pretty small at only 7 acres in total. However, it’s situated in the most beautiful mountain setting and is totally surrounded by green trees and foliage. It feels like a little slice of heaven hiding in the Ruby Mountains.
