It’s been said before by many that humans are proven to be happier by water. So what better way to spend a sunny summer day than taking a charming stroll along one of New York’s river walks? Taking you by a short but sweet river that you may have never heard of, this spot in Essex County is the perfect place to get a breath of fresh air all while you’re surrounded by beautiful views. Take a look!
Head up north to one of New York’s most beautiful towns, and you’ll get the chance to experience the LaChute River Walk in Ticonderoga.

Running right through the heart of Ticonderoga, the LaChute River is roughly 4-miles long and connects Lake George to Lake Champlain.

The short but sweet river is one that runs steep and drops over 200-feet between the time it leaves Lake George and makes its way to Ticonderoga’s Bicentennial Park.

The last of five major drops, Bicentennial Park’s waterfall is one of our favorite views to enjoy along the LaChute River Walk.

Starting at the Ticonderoga Heritage Museum, the 4-mile-long trail will take you through the park and around downtown - passing places like the covered Kissing Bridge.
