The Tar Heel State is not without a plethora of ghost stories, unexplained haunts, and hair-raising tales. Back in the 1940s and 50s, a tale began to fester in the town of Williamston, NC about a local mill owner who decided to do away with his nagging wife.
As the legend goes, the frustrated husband dragged his wife to this Williamston bridge (located on Yarrell Creek Road) with poor intentions.
