Few people know it even exists, but it’s by far one of the most enchanting places in the Silver State. Tucked away at the base of the Spring Mountain Range in Red Rock Canyon is a small community of 290 people called Blue Diamond. It’s just a short drive away from Las Vegas, but it feels hundreds of miles away from civilization.

Blue Diamond is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. Nestled within Red Rock Canyon, visitors have all sorts of opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and more. The area is absolutely stunning. It’s easy to see why people would choose to live here, despite being so remote.

It was originally established some time in the 1940s by a mining company. The company provided housing and a community for miners who worked in the Blue Diamond Mine. It remained a company owned town until 1965.

Today, it acts as the starting point of endless amounts of adventure. It’s close proximity to places like Spring Mountain Ranch State Park and of course Red Rock Canyon makes it easy to get out and explore this beautiful part of southern Nevada.

In fact, many of these places are steeped in fascinating history. Spring Mountain Ranch is an awesome recreation area around a historic ranch. Hiking trails are abundant, and the beauty to be found within the park is simply staggering.

The one-of-a-kind attraction known as Bonnie Springs Ranch is also just a stone’s throw away. This unique place is like a replica of an old Western town, complete with restaurants, a motel, petting zoo, riding stables, live entertainment, and more.

The town itself is quiet. It’s truly unlike any other town in the state. It feels worlds away from the noisiness and chaos of Vegas. Instead, it really feels like Blue Diamond exists in its own little bubble.
