There’s nothing like a beautiful spring day in Utah to fully appreciate an outdoor adventure. If you’re up for a challenge, lace up your hiking boots and explore this popular trail near Salt Lake City. It’s a tough one, but it’s well worth the effort.

The Mount Olympus Trail takes you straight up the mountain to the peak, which sits at 9,026 feet. This six-mile-long trail is considered strenuous, but if you’re up for the challenge your effort will be richly rewarded.

While this trail is stunning, it isn’t for everyone. With a 4,107-foot elevation gain, you’ll need to be in decent shape. Make sure to carry plenty of water with you - you’ll need it.

You’ll find the trailhead on the east side of Wasatch Boulevard, about 1.5 miles south of 4500 South. Watch for a sign that marks the parking lot.
