The trail begins on the Rhode Island/Massachusetts border in the Buck Hill State Management Area at 42°00’31.60″N, 71°47’07.96″W. From that point, you will enjoy a very scenic journey by following the blue blazes and signs heading toward your final destination of the beach.

Much of the northern section of the trail passes through woodlands. But at some places, the trail follows back country roads. Experience the quaint farms and fields of wildflowers on these stretches.

Traverse through many of the wildlife management areas of the western region of the state. You might want to spend a night in the gorgeous Burlingame State Campground under scenic pines by the lake.

If you aren’t quite up to the challenge try some shorter trails in the Ocean State. You might enjoy these really short hikes that are each under a mile or this longer hike that showcases two delightful waterfalls.
