Today, the easiest way to get across the Mississippi River is by one of the many bridges that span across its waters. However, what do you do when the bridge to cross the river is over an hour away? Luckily, there are still a few ferries operating on the Mississippi River and it’s still a great way to get you and your car across the river.

If you’re looking for a ferry boat that can take you from Missouri to Kentucky, there is only one option. The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is actually the only ferry operating on the Mississippi that can shuttle you and your car between the two states.

Enjoy the wide open views of the Mississippi from the ferry. It’s not unusual to see a river barge coming down the mighty Mississippi.

Crossing the river by ferry is truly one of the most unique experiences you can find in Missouri.
