The One World Lantern Festival is being held in Buffalo on Saturday, May 26, 2018.

The goal of the event is to bring people and communities together as one to send positive thoughts, letters to loved ones, and hopes and dreams out onto the water. With all the lanterns lit at once, it will become a beautiful sea of light on Lake Erie.
The Buffalo Water Lantern Festival starts at 4 p.m. with music, food trucks, and entertainment until 7 p.m.
Water Lantern Festival - Facebook At 7 p.m., time will be given for attendees to design their lanterns. Lanterns will launch at 7:30 p.m., approximately 30 minutes prior to sunset, and will continue to launch until everyone has had the opportunity for their lanterns to set sail.

Each ticket purchase includes one lantern, a lantern marker, a mini flashlight, and a wristband, not to mention an experience creating moving memories to last a lifetime!

If you’re concerned about the environmental impact of letting loose hundreds of lanterns on our beautiful lake, fear not! One World Lantern Festival has a cleanup crew that gathers up all the floating lanterns immediately following the event. Even if one slips through, the lanterns are all made from rice paper and wood to be eco-friendly.
