Anyone that’s stopped into their local Ocean State Job Lot has noticed that the holiday explosion is suddenly in full force. Whether you’re ready or not, the radio is also joining and blasting beloved holiday classics. Though the snow maybe hasn’t fallen yet (which most of us Rhode Islanders are thankful for) there are many ways to celebrate the onset of the season. Quite possibly the most unique way is this fantastic train ride offered in Blackstone Valley.

We originally posted this article in 2016, but we’ve updated it with new details for 2018:

This winter themed train ride is based on the family holiday classic Polar Express. The three-hour excursion includes a 90 minute train ride, games, hot chocolate, sing-a-longs, storytelling and more!

The train runs from the Historic Blackstone Valley Train Depot located in the city of Woonsocket.

Photo opportunities prior to and after the trip are a perfect way to remember the event. Post trip photos featuring Santa, who makes several appearances throughout the ride, are complimentary.

The Polar Express runs each weekend from November 16th until December 23rd with tickets varying in price depending on the train car you choose.
