Missouri is loaded with history. Many of the towns situated along the Mississippi River have been established since the early 1800s. Just a short drive from St. Louis, but well off the beaten path is the tiny historic town of Kimmswick. This little town is well known for it’s annual Strawberry Festival in the spring and the Applebutter Festival in the fall. However, did you know you can dine in one of the oldest, log cabin buildings in Kimmswick? Have an extraordinary meal in this extraordinary setting!
The stunning log cabin in the heart of Kimmswick was constructed in 1772. Originally, the structure was a one story home and was situated closer to present day Arnold on Jeffco Boulevard.

The structure became two stories in 1831 and was moved to Kimmswick in the 1900’s. At one point the building sat vacant and was going to be demolished. Luckily, Lucianna-Gladnery Ross, heir to the 7 Up soda empire, saved the building from its eminent doom.
