Fascinating pieces of history are scattered all throughout the state of New York, with intriguing sites and attractions always at the ready here. Out in Oneida County where you’re surrounded by all sorts of incredible pieces of Central New York’s history, there’s one well-preserved site that’s bound to fill you with nostalgia.
Right on the corner of North George and West Liberty Street in Rome, the Sears Service Station dates all the way back to 1930.

The site is one that almost looks as though it was a piece of a vintage movie set that was recently left behind.
Beautifully preserved, the office of the former Sears Service Station now operates as the H.P. Sears Museum — a place that’s open to the public by appointment.

The station features four vintage gas pumps, all of which have a red, white, and blue color scheme and have electric globe lights atop them.
