It’s finally spooky season here in Delaware: the leaves are changing, pumpkins are out on porches, and everyone’s really getting in the Halloween spirit! It’s time to get out and about to explore the scary side of the First State. If you’re looking for an eerie adventure to kick off your holiday adventures, head to one of Delaware’s most popular state parks for a chilling Delaware haunted hike.
Lums Pond State Park is one of Delaware’s most beautiful natural treasures.

These woods are hiding a dark secret, though, and those who live nearby are quick to tell the tale of the Swamp Trail.

In the 1870s, one young girl from New Castle County ran away from an unhappy home, and found a spot to stay beneath the forest canopy.

To most, the Swamp Trail is a scenic hike up and around the park, but if you happen to be hiking alone, take a minute to listen to the woods.

Time and time again, solo hikers hear shrill screams or cries for help coming from the woods.
