Like any major city, Buffalo has pockets of areas that are built up with local attractions. From shops and restaurants to theaters and galleries, this spot in the Queen City truly has it all. Read on to learn more about the eight ways Buffalo’s Theatre District has quietly become the coolest place in the city.

  1. First things first: Sheas

Roey Ahram - Flickr Shea’s is the hub of the Theatre District. This historic theatre has been in existence since 1926 and it’s come a long way from showing silent films on screen. Today, you can catch touring Broadway performances and more at this beautiful venue!

  1. 710 Theatre

Shea’s 710 Theatre - Facebook While we’re on the topic of theatres, Shea’s 710 Theatre is also located in the theatre district at 710 Main Street. This theatre is a 625-seat performance venue and while it’s smaller in size, the productions shown on stage here are just as impressive!

  1. Market Arcade

Buffalo Chophouse - Facebook If you don’t mind splurging a bit on a great dining experience, head to Buffalo Chophouse. This restaurant is one of Buffalo’s most well-known spots for steak and seafood. (We highly recommend sticking around for dessert!)

  1. Public art

Albright-Knox Art Gallery Website (PC Michael Krupski) The Theatre District sealed its place as one of the coolest spots in Buffalo with the completion of this giant work of public art in 2016. “Noodle In The Northern Lights” (created by artists Jessie and Katey) is one of many installments of the Albright-Knox Public Art initiative. It’s even more amazing in person!

  1. Nightlife, shopping, and entertainment.
