The 630-acre site contains over 10 miles of trails, perfect for hiking, birdwatching, and photography.

The trail system runs along a spill-bank that features beautiful views of the wetlands in the area.

Perhaps the most unique part of the trails is the grouping of World War II Ammunition Magazines.

There are a few different trails to choose from, but you’ll find the ammunition magazines towards the end of the Bottomland Hiking Trail.

Ammunition would come in by ships and trains, where it would be stored in these spaces. Small arms for machine guns, shells, and black powder were the main products stored here.
