Even better, there’s a farm in Picayune, MS, where you can pick your own sunflowers. Coastal Ridge Farm is a “fresh, earth-friendly little flower farm in south Mississippi.” More specifically, it’s located near Hancock County in Picayune.

Each fall, visitors are invited to the farm for Sunflower U-Pick Season. This year, the season runs from September 29th – October 28th.

During the u-pick season, the farm is open each Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

There are a few things you should know before you go. First of all, you’ll be strolling through acres of sunflower fields, so you can expect plenty of walking and “rough ground.”

Don’t forget to wear old shoes. Also, you’ll need a pruner, garden shears, pocket knife, or something similar to cut the sunflowers as well as a 1-gallon jug to bring them home.
