Minnesota may be landlocked, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have access to some truly delightful beaches. While many of our beaches are full of pebbles and stones, the Land of 10,000 Lakes does have more than a few sandy beaches. Whether you love to swim, build sandcastles, or just sunbathe with a good book, you won’t have trouble finding what you’re looking for. One of our favorite sandy beaches is a perfect day trip destination that often goes underrated thanks to other nearby attractions. Read on to find your next favorite Minnesota swimming spot!

Duluth’s Park Point beach is located on the narrow strip of land beyond Duluth’s Aerial Lift Bridge. It’s called Minnesota Point, or Park Point.

The beach is easily accessed by a parking area at the end of the point. From there, walk up the sandy path to the beach.

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by the beautiful sight of Lake Superior. While the lake is known for being cold, it is nice to cool off in on warm summer days.

There is also often driftwood and other natural materials scattered along the beach. Every visit to Park Point is an adventure.

Aside from exploring the surroundings, this beach is also great for playing in the sand. Sandcastles and other creations will make you feel like you’re at the ocean!

Don’t forget to bring a towel! There’s plenty of space to spread out and relax. Pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it.
