The Hazel Mountain Lookout Tower, also known as the Hazel Mountain Fire Tower, was completed in 1939 by the Virginia Department of Forestry.

The Aermoter structure stands at a dizzying 90 feet tall, and those who venture to climb to the top will find themselves at an impressive elevation of 3,044 feet above sea level.

Climbing the many steps to the top of the tower is possible; however, be sure to exercise caution as you ascend to the top. As you can imagine, the views are well worth the effort!
