Oregon is home to dozens of fun fall festivals, but there’s one annual event that we’ve all been eagerly anticipating, and it’s right around the corner. Make plans now to visit the town of Tualatin for the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta.
2018 marks the 14th annual West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta, which is held at the Lake at Tualatin commons. This year, the festival takes place on October 20, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..

The festival kicks off with a Regatta Run 5k to benefit a scholarship fund. The race honors Corporal Matthew Lembke, who lost his life while serving a third tour of duty in Afghanistan.

As soon as the 5k is over, the gigantic pumpkins arrive to be weighed. These humongous gourds weigh as much as 1,000 pounds!

The pumpkin races start promptly at 2 p.m.. You don’t want to miss these crazy paddlers, who dress up in crazy costumes.
