Here’s something you don’t find every day, or anywhere else known to mankind. Located just a few miles from Interstate 26 on a rural country road in South Carolina is the world’s only known official UFO Welcome Center. Don’t laugh, aliens are serious stuff.
That’s why the welcome center’s creator, Jody Pendarvis, hopes to give any and all aliens a safe refuge in which to rest and recuperate from their long journey to Planet Earth.

Don’t act surprised. South Carolinians have always been famous for our hospitality. (In fact, the only thing the UFO Welcome Center may lack is the universal symbol of hospitality, the pineapple.)

Pendarvis started building the UFO Welcome Center in his front yard only feet from the highway, way back in 1994.

According to the National UFO Reporting Center website here, South Carolina is a hotbed of regular UFO sightings, so it only makes perfect sense to have our own UFO Welcome Center. According to the user-reported data, more than 70 UFO sightings have been reported across the Palmetto State in 2018 alone.

Signs posted, apparently by Pendarvis, all around the exterior of the structure warn tourists of the inherent dangers of interacting with any aliens. For instance, they apparently do not take kindly to having their photograph taken. Consider yourself forewarned, should you decide to pay a visit.

The UFO Welcome Center is, or was once, outfitted with a sleeping quarters in the top part of the saucer, apparently for Pendarvis to be able to spend entire nights up there and to be able to leave with any aliens that decide to visit and take the spaceship-looking visitor center back to where ever they came from.

You can visit the UFO Welcome Center any time you like. We can’t guarantee you’ll get to meet any aliens, but you can dream…

The only (known) UFO Welcome Center on Earth is located at 4004 Homestead Rd., Bowman, SC 29018. There are no set hours for visiting; however, you may want to get there before dark… you know, with potential aliens nearby you’ll want to be able to see them. Viewing the attraction is always free. Entering, may be off-limits or require a small donation. Good luck, and be sure to write home if you get squired away to another planet!
