The Farmer’s Almanac announces their winter forecast in August, and this year the predictions for Wyoming are in. Part of living in Wyoming is accepting that “Winter” is most of the year, and in 2018-2019, we’ll get to enjoy a mix of warm, dry weather and mild, snowy months. See below to find out what the Farmer’s Almanac says about the state’s signature season!

Of course, with a state as varied in terrain and elevation as Wyoming, there’s going to be a difference. The Southwestern part of the state will be wet and warm through March.

Don’t think the warmer air means we won’t have a ton of snow, though. Even above average temps in Wyoming are cold enough to freeze over. With a lot of precipitation coming through, we’re sure to see high accumulations.

Meanwhile, Northeastern Wyoming will be a bit of a roller coaster. November, January and February will be warm and dry, with a cold and wet December and a soggy, sloppy March.
