With approximately 750 miles of captivating coastline and hundreds of breathtaking beaches, the Hawaiian Islands are heaven for anyone who loves the ocean. Nestled along Kauai’s Na Pali Coast between Kilauea Lighthouse to the south and Princeville to the north, there is perhaps no place more scenic than Anini Beach.

Anini is home to the longest and widest fringing reef in the Hawaiian Islands, and due to these unique conditions, is well protected and has some of the most consistent conditions for water activities on the island. However, in its channels and outside of the protective reef, Anini Beach is known for its strong currents.

With shallow water and the largest reef on the island of Kauai, Anini Beach is a snorkeler’s paradise. The reef appears to stretch for miles, and exploring underwater nooks and crannies is great fun for those of varying skill levels. Anini Beach is also a popular spot for windsurfing, swimming, paddling, fishing, and even camping.

If you head to the western end of the beach, you will find a sandbar that extends far into the ocean perfect for fishing, wading, and searching for seashells along the shore.

Dotted with expensive homes, this is one of the prettiest locations you’ll find in the Aloha State. One of the homes was even featured in the 1992 movie Honeymoon in Vegas.
