According to WalletHub, the best state for a summer road trip in 2018 is… Wyoming!

Other notable mentions for the best of America’s best include the state of Minnesota, which was ranked first for safety, while California came in first for activities. With each state having something different to offer, Mississippi had the lowest average gas prices, Michigan had the lowest average for cost of car repairs, Vermont had the fewest car thefts per capita, and California and North Carolina tied for first with the most scenic byways.

Rhode Island was ranked 48th for cost, 49th for activities, but 6th for safety. When it came to the bottom, Hawaii was ranked 50th for cost, South Carolina was ranked 50th for safety, and Vermont was ranked 50th for activities.
