The airline industry is experiencing a boom at the moment, and revenues are up pretty much across the board. However, some U.S. airports aren’t sharing in the good fortune.
A recent study by Upgraded Points compared decades of data from the Federal Aviation Administration and revealed that a few major American airports are struggling to draw in passengers.

The top “dying” airports Memphis International (MEM) and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International (CVG). Both of these major airports have experienced large declines in growth, probably because Delta Airlines ended its hub operations in these spots.

So what airports are really knocking it out of the park? Dallas Love Field (DAL), Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS), and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) snagged the top three spots. These airports have experienced huge growth over the past few decades. SFO, in particular, might owe its success to encouraging airlines to use larger planes rather than adding more frequent, smaller flights.
