Minnesota has a reputation for being relatively flat. After all, the state’s highest point is only 1,322 feet above sea level. But that doesn’t mean there are no places to see interesting terrain. In fact, one of the coolest places in Minnesota involves venturing early 80 feet below the earth’s surface to a one-of-a-kind cavern that has its very own underground waterfall. Take a look:

Niagara Cave is a well-known southern Minnesota spot for curious adventurers. You’ll find it at 29842 Co. Hwy. 30, Harmony, MN 55939.

Visitors will travel 75 feet below the surface of the earth, into a series of limestone caverns created by flowing water over millions of years.

The cave is most famous for its underground waterfall. Of all of Minnesota’s waterfalls, this 60-foot underground fall is among the most impressive.

Visiting hours vary for Niagara Cave, but the best times to visit are May through November. General admission is $16, with admission at $10 for kids up to age 12.
