I’m not a big exercise buff but I could walk these amazing art trails all day. The beauty of this spot is simply an inspiration, and there are plenty of picturesque spots to rest along the way. What am I referring to? New Jersey’s own Grounds For Sculpture, of course.
Grounds For Sculpture is a 42-acre park with trails traversing gardens, surrounded by spectacular sculptures.

Trails are easy to navigate, wheelchair accessible, and visitors can stroll for as long (or as little) as they’d like.

Surprises await you around every corner. Keep your eyes open because there’s always something amazing to see.

You’re free to wander the trails on your own, and I highly recommend spending several hours doing so. There’s hidden magic just waiting to be discovered!

In addition to all the art, you’ll find flowers, towers, bridges, ponds, benches for relaxation and contemplation… even small, air conditioned shacks!

There are sculptures both big and small, abstract and realistic. There’s something for everyone to delight in.

While walking, you may come across a peacock or two.

And should you want to take a break from your exploration, you’re welcome to grab a meal at the onsite restaurant, Rat’s! There’s also a more budget-conscious cafe among the dining options.

While doing your own thing is definitely a must, you can also find a variety of walking tours to enhance the experience.

Outdoor walking tours are regularly scheduled at 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM & 2:00 PM, based on Docent availability. Tours last 45-60 minutes and highlight a handful of the sculptures. Every tour is different, so you never know which dozen or so that you’ll see.

There are also 30-minute tours of the indoor galleries available.

Another incredible option is a 75-minute HortiSculpture tour. These tours, held between May and October, offer insight into the relationship between the art and landscape of GFS. They are available every Wednesday, Friday & Saturday at 10:30 AM.
