And one that you won’t want to miss is coming up in a couple of months aboard the Battleship USS North Carolina in Wilmington.

Wilmington’s most popular attraction looks perfectly benign during the daylight hours. Hundreds of thousands visit the decommissioned battleship each year and tour both above and below the deck. But not many get to take an overnight tour — in the dark — with professional ghost hunters…

Join the team for a night and go below deck in the darkness in search of shadows and more. It’s said that many daytime visitors aboard the battleship have reported some creepy paranormal happenings, like hearing groans from a crew that no longer exists.

Many visitors have reported seeing apparitions of a sailors aboard the permanently moored ship. Reportedly, 10 sailors died aboard the USS North Carolina while it was in use by the US Navy. Many believe their spirits may be trapped here on the ship.

A variety of ghost hunting teams have explored the ship, including local and regional teams and the SyFy Channel’s “Ghosthunters.” Their findings included disembodied voices, apparitions, and orbs, all captured either on film or audio.
