You can stay at the rustic Bureau of Land Management cabin available for reservation in the lush Tongass National Forest. The cabin sleeps five in one double bunk and three singles.

You can fish for all five species of salmon and dolly varden char in the bay. You can also see humpback whales, orca, and Dahl’s porpoises out in the ocean waters.

It’s best to bring both a motorized boat to arrive and depart from the Echo Cove boat launch, and kayaks for cruising across the bay while at the cabin.

There is a glorious waterfall where clear mountain water tumbles into the ocean as the snow caps melt on warm summer days. Kayak around the circumference of the bay to see all the wonders hiding in this wild place.
