We don’t usually write about national chain restaurants, but we have to admit that some of them are pretty good. Sonic Drive-In is popular for its burgers, hot dogs and drinks, and there are several locations all over the Beehive State, but there’s a brand new Sonic that’s the only one of it’s kind in the entire world! Last month, Sonic opened a brand new concept restaurant - Sonic 3D. Its very first location? Layton, Utah!

This new restaurant is located inside a building that was formerly a Phillips 66 gas station. It has a little bit of indoor seating, and patio seating as well.

The 3D in the name stands for the three things that makes Sonic famous: Drinks, Dogs, and Desserts. The menu at Sonic 3D Is much more limited than the regular menu at the larger Sonic Drive-Ins, but it focuses on some of the most popular snacks.

You’ll find five different hot dogs on the menu, including the Fritos Chili Cheese Dog, the Lunch Box Dog, the Picnic Dog, the Chili Cheese Coney, and the Ketchup All-Day Dog.

The soft pretzel twists are sold with a side of warm, gooey cheese, and they’ve long been a favorite of Sonic Drive-In lovers.

Perhaps the most popular menu item at Sonic is the drinks. You can mix and match flavors to create nearly endless drink combinations (Sonic says it’s possible to make around 1.3 million different drinks from their various sodas and flavorings).

The menu offers 30 curated drinks - flavor combinations that are especially popular. Try a Frankly, My Dear - a combination of Sprite, blue coconut, and strawberry. Or sip on a Sweet Tooth - root beer mixed with caramel and ice cream sno cap. Red Button is Coke with cherry and vanilla. You’ll want to try them all!
