A recent article by Forbes has outlined some of the best destinations for world travel, and it just so happens that there’s one hiding right here in the U.S. So if you’re looking for some worldly travel without having to journey too far, you’ll want to plan a trip to the picturesque Anza-Borrego State Park in southern California. Take a look at the following photographs and prepare to be enchanted:

Depending on the time of year you visit, you may even get to experience the ephemeral desert wildflowers, which add a pop of color to an otherwise arid landscape.

Flowers aren’t the only way to experience color, though. The sunsets visible from Anza-Borrego State Park are among the most dramatic in the U.S., largely because the desert seems to stretch on forever.
