Stewart’s got its start in Mansfield, Ohio in 1924. By 1931, the restaurant became a franchise. There are now 60 Stewart’s locations, 38 of them being in New Jersey. At one time, the restaurant only served popcorn and root beer but now you’ll find a full menu of comfort food favorites including burgers, fries, hot dogs, sandwiches and salads. The majority of Stewart’s restaurants are drive-thru joints with carhop service but there are a handful that are a bit different…and there are none quite like this.
