This easy wildflower hike in Kansas is the perfect thing to do if you’d like to get out there and hike through a sea of native Kansas wildflowers. If you’ve got nothing planned for June 2nd, 2018, you should definitely head to the Lawrence/Eudora area for a hike full of little surprises.
Every year, the Kansas Land Trust leads wildflower hikes through the Akin Prairie.

All 16 acres of Akin Prairie are protected by the Kansas Land Trust, who were given the property by Dorothy Akin’s family upon her passing in 1994.

Of course, Kansas has plenty of pests that come with tall grasses, so make sure you wear appropriate attire.

This year, the Wildflower Walk starts at 10 a.m. on June 2nd, and is free to attend.
