You’ll find the trailhead near the southern end of the park’s parking lot. There should be a walkway that leads you to a junction with the Davison Trail. You’ll turn right and after approximately 100 yards you’ll see a dirt path on your right. This is the start of the Trillium Falls trail.

You’ll immediately enter the forest as you continue onto the trail. A few switchbacks will lead you uphill, all while towering redwoods and ferns provide plenty of shade and the wonderful smell of nature. It isn’t long before you come across a steel bridge which provides the perfect overlook for the falls.

The trail is a loop so you can continue on after the waterfall and be brought back to the beginning. The redwoods begin to get smaller after the waterfall and instead you’ll find yourself surrounded by dense thickets of younger foliage including spruce trees.

However, if you keep chuggin’ along you’ll soon find yourself by some of the most impressive redwoods that the park has to offer. The trail then begins to turn north, signalling the end of this brief but beautiful journey.
