Taking place over Columbus Day Weekend, October 6-7, 2018, the Galena Country Fair is a fine arts event that features more than 150 vendors selling everything from food to crafts. It has been going on for nearly 40 years and is a must-visit for many locals before it can truly feel like fall.

Vendors sell high-quality artwork, including decorations, ornaments, handbags, jewelry, clothing, and other accessories and home goods. If you love treasure hunting, you’ll definitely find a wealth of special homemade items here.

When it comes to cuisine, guests enjoy hot food vendors and baked goods. You’ll find everything from fries, hot dogs, and nachos to fudge, funnel cakes, and caramel apples. It is difficult to resist buying one of everything.

For adults, there is a gazebo garden where beer and wine are served. Local wineries will also be among the vendors selling their seasonal products.

Scheduled events take place throughout the two days of this vintage country fair. On Saturday, festivities begin at 9 a.m. with a live string band. There will also be Irish dancers and a church service at 5:30 p.m.

The following day also begins at 9 a.m. with live music. This day also includes dancers but also a raffle drawing around 3 p.m. The day finishes up at 4 p.m.
