Ancient cave paintings found in Valencia, Spain depict people foraging for honey, and today, humans have figured out how to keep bees so we can harvest the sugary goodness, put it in jars and enjoy it on a hot, buttery scone or peanut butter sandwich. Marion Cox began raising honey bees and harvesting honey in 1929, and in 1989 the operation grew to include a huge warehouse and production facility, as well as a gift shop. The shop is located at 1780 S. State Highway 89, Logan, Utah, and you’ll want to stop by for some local honey and other tasty treats.

Cox Honeyland produces more than 20 flavors of honey, and you can sample many of them in the store. Did you know that honey from different areas has a different flavor, depending on the nectar from different types of blossoms ? Cox Honeyland carries three varieties: clover-alfalfa, mountain snowberry, and Cache Valley (which is a darker, richer honey).

Take home a honey bear or jar of your favorite flavors. Drizzle it over a scone or sandwich, or use it as sweet ingredient in your baked treats and snacks.

Honey sticks are a tasty treat! Each one contains about a teaspoon of fresh honey, and they come in a variety of flavors. You can purchase these singly, or buy them in a larger package of 10.

You could spend hours watching the busy bees in the observation hive. Check out the worker bees busily filling the cells in the honeycomb, and see the drones coming and going (they can enter and exit the little hive cabinet through a pipe that leads outside).
