The fossil area is only open to guests every first and third Saturday from 12pm to 4pm, so be sure to plan ahead. You wouldn’t want to miss out on discovering an ancient treasure.

Although guests may not technically dig in the dirt, you are welcome to keep your eyes peeled. If you find something, your name will be credited and the specimen may even be displayed at the Smithsonian Museum.
