Aside from the fact that it’s surrounded by water and therefore feels totally peaceful, the antique shops, bookstores, cafes and eateries in the downtown area are amazing.

Between the mountainous surroundings, the European vibe and all the authentic German decor (and food), sometimes a weekend in Leavenworth is better than Disneyland (no offense to the Magic Kingdom).
We’re so lucky to have so many dreamy towns in Washington we can get lost in. And if it’s time at the beach you need, you can always head for the coast.
