North Dakota’s rivers have always been hugely important to the state. From the days of the fur trade along the Missouri River, to the all-important, nutrient-rich soil in the Red River Valley for our agriculture, to the canyons of the Badlands formed around the Little Missouri River, and to one of the biggest manmade lakes in the country formed by a river, Lake Sakakawea, they come in all shapes and sizes and all are important. If you’re looking for the perfect river experience — especially in the fall — then look no further than this small yet gorgeous place:

Step into a fantasy at the gorgeous Turtle River in North Dakota. The wooded banks of the flowing water create the perfect atmosphere for a lovely outing. It is located in Grand Forks County.
