New York is known for having a variety of amazing hiking trails in all different regions of our state. Explorers can put their strength to the test by climbing one of our High Peaks or go for a more leisurely stroll along one of our boardwalk hikes. While most residents universally enjoy hiking and getting outdoors, not all of us have the energy to make it up to the top of some of our state’s tallest mountains. Giving you something short but sweet, this one easy trail will leave you feeling like you’re Mufasa overlooking your home state kingdom.
Just off Mill Valley Road in Middleburgh, Vroman’s Nose is a short and easy hike that everyone can take on.

Part of the Long Path that runs from up in the Adirondacks to down in New Jersey, Vroman’s Nose Loop Trail will start off by having you hike through a magnificently serene forest.

With an elevation gain of just under 500-feet, the majority of the trail is a gradual climb that only includes a few steep sections - but it’s nothing you can’t handle!

From the summit, you’ll have sweeping views of the Schoharie Valley and beautiful farmland that’s all down below you.

Commonly known as the “Dance Floor” the summit has a large flat surface that was created by glacial movements.

Great for hikers of all ages and skill level, Vroman’s Nose is less than an hour west of Albany and is a short 1.7-mile long loop trail.
