Kentucky’s rich history is evident in the many historic buildings all over the state, and some of those buildings house businesses that have been around for more than a century. Here’a a historic mill that you’ll want to check out:
August Weisenberger, a German immigrant, established his mill in 1865, and it’s now operated by the sixth generation of Weisenbergers. The original mill was torn down and rebuilt in 1913; this building has been standing for more than 100 years.

Nestled on South Elkhorn Creek, the mill gets the power for its twin turbines from the rushing water. The creek is a great spot for fishing, and the mills’ surroundings are just beautiful.
