Located in Royalston, Doane’s Falls is a breathtaking series of cascades that look like something from a fairytale.

Even better, tiny legs won’t have any trouble reaching this stunning natural gem. The hike there and back is only about half a mile.

The trail to the falls is easily accessed on Athol-Royalston Road and runs along a lovely river. You can park at Tully Park.

Once you’re at the cascade, there’s another easy walk around the falls that’s perfect for young kids.

The best time to view the falls is right after a good rainstorm or in early spring when the snow is melting, but they’re gorgeous any time of the year.
